It would kill everything including the beneficial insects I want, and the butterflies, below. I'm an organic grower, I would never spray my garden with pesticide.

If it has an anise or licorice fragrance, taste it. The sure way to know, is break off a leaf and smell it. It's not easy to tell the difference between "regular" goldenrod and sweet goldenrod by looking unless you're a plant geek.
